Spring Bean Agronomy Summary

Spring Beans require a compaction free seed bed, and can be
direct drilled

Sow 35-50mm deep into moisture

Consolidate soil after drilling if drilled into dry soil conditions

Plant populations have traditionally been 35-45 plants m². Recent work at PGRO has
shown yield increases with higher plant populations 50-60 plants m². Stick to traditional
populations on more fertile sites.
Sow at 60-65 seeds m² on normal sites
