Belfry
Six-Row Hybrid Feed Barley
Belfry is a very consistent long-standing variety. Not only producing very high yields, but it is
also the most easily managed secure HYVIDO option. Its early maturity makes it suitable for a
wide range of soils however Belfry stands out on heavier and more fertile sites. The variety
offers a very strong disease resistance profile with no weaknesses, including a very strong 7 for
Rhyncosporium. Where it really excels is in straw quality. It is the shortest HYVIDO variety on
the RL which not only gives it excellent lodging resistance but the best brackling resistance and
ear retention of any HYVIDO variety.
